The Platinum Rule

The Platinum Rule is similar to the Golden Rule, but not quite identical:

• The Golden Rule: Treat others as you would have them treat you.
• The Platinum Rule: Treat others as they like to be treated.

I think it can be improved. I propose usurping the title "Platinum Rule" and giving it a new definition:

• Treat others as you would have your loved ones treated.

This definition seems less subject to the exceptions of greed, deviousness or evil.
